‘Nuclear War is imminent,’ Russia says: 7 ways Russia is telling its people to prepare for War

October 2016MOSCOW, RussiaWith tensions between Russia and the United States at their highest since the Cold War, there have been alarming signs coming out of Moscow that suggest the country is ready for war. Almost no one believes the Kremlin is actually preparing for a military conflict with the United States. Most analysts instead see it as a show, intended to boost support at home and to deter Western countries from intervening militarily in Syria.
There are some unsettling things Russia has done, however, to give the impression that war is looming: As the confrontation between the United and Russia has worsened over Syria, and amid speculation Washington might launch airstrikes against Syrian government forces, Russian state-controlled media has gone into high gear, asking Russians whether they are prepared for nuclear war. “If that should one day happen, each of you must know where the nearest bomb shelter is,” a report on the state-controlled network, NTV, noted, before taking viewers on a tour of a nuclear bunker in Moscow.
State outlets, already solidly anti-American in their coverage, have unleashed themselves further, indulging in bitter denunciations of America duplicity, bombastic promises of merciless defenses and freely bandying the nuclear card. Russia’s main current affairs show, hosted by a man known by critics as the country’s “propagandist-in-chief,” warned American “impudence” could take on “nuclear dimensions,” then spending 40 minutes taking viewers through a panoply of potential nuclear options Russia possesses if the United States were to intervene too strongly in Syria. The host, Evgeny Kiselyov, described how three Russian missile frigates this week had sailed toward Syria to head off potential U.S. airstrikes against Syrian military targets. Incidentally,” Kiselyov told his audience, the ships missiles “also [come] in a nuclear version. Which version is aboard our missile frigates right now isn’t known.

Check Your Gas Masks
This month Russia held a large-scale civil defense drill across the country, meant to prepare people for disasters, among them nuclear catastrophe. The drill, which Russian authorities claimed affected 40 million people, and particularly the way it was presented on state television, resembled Soviet-era exercises, with scenes of schoolchildren flooding out in evacuations and being taught to hurriedly pull on gas masks.
Who’s in Charge Here?
Russia’s defense ministry has announced how the country would function in time of war, clarifying which government bodies would take command. The answer was largely it would, taking control of governor’s offices, local administrations and the police. The military simulated that scenario during a huge exercise in southern Russia.

The Sound of Saber-Rattling
The maneuvers took on harder forms as well. This week, Russia deployed nuclear-capable missiles to Kaliningrad, its northern European enclave between Poland and Lithuania that put the weapons within striking distance of Western capitals. Moscow has threatened before to deploy the Iskander-M missiles to Kaliningrad, in response, it says, to the establishment of the U.S. anti-missile shield being erected in Eastern Europe. But this week’s deployment came sooner than expected, with analysts suggesting that indicated the Kremlin wanted to play it as part of the broader saber-rattling display in the confrontation around Syria.
Russia also conducted a series of intercontinental ballistic missile tests this week, launching three missiles in a single day. Two of the nuclear-capable missiles were launched from submarines off Russia’s Pacific coast, the third was fired from an inland launch pad, RIA Novosti reported.
What a Catastrophe Might Look Like
Still, despite the threats, the display has sometimes shown its seams. In the NTV report warning people to identify their nearest fallout shelter, the presenter interviewed a retired colonel “showing several possible scenarios of the catastrophe” on a map. The “map” turned out to be a U.S. video game based on nuclear conflict.
Every Neighborhood Needs a Good Bomb Shelter
Most Russians don’t take the war talk seriously, laughing off the idea on the street. Most take a more realistic view of whether there’s actually need to find a bomb-shelter. A photo being shared on social media showed an apartment block in suburban Moscow where pranksters or enterprising fraudsters had posted a flier asking residents to donate cash to build a neighborhood bomb shelter.“Hurry,” the flier said. “Places are limited.”  –ABC News

The Saber-rattling resembles The talk heard during the Reagan Administration and The U.S. during the Red Scare of The 50’s.

    • Utopia: the Collapse says:

Yes, like the Reagan era all over again…right? A Republican running for president. Economic malaise in the U.S. And hostages freed in Iran right before an election. Feels like history is repeating itself.

    • Ben N. says:

Nope. This is much worse. In 1982 the Russians were concerned when Reagan said “Our missiles are on the way”. But, at that time they feared a strong America. Now, they see a weak America in which it’s politicians are saber rattling to deflect from domestic issues–and they believe if they strike at our THAAD positions in Romania next week, we will do nothing.

You mentioned: “State controlled media” in Russia. Why don’t you ever mention that about the U.S. media? At times it was very blatant.

    • Utopia: the Collapse says:

I don’t write the articles, Randal. However, I wouldn’t put one ounce of trust in anything streaming from the Main-steam news media in the U.S.

Case in point, the Bushes threw their support behind Hillary Clinton. NBC supports Hillary Clinton. Billy Bush and Chelsea Clinton both worked for NBC. Billy Bush was involved with the leaked Donald Trump video tape. 2nd point, the Los Angeles Times reported 15 minutes after the second debate that according to a poll, Clinton had won the debate. That may be the fastest poll ever conducted in history.

My point is, they are biased and are controlled by special interest.

WWIII Update – 10,000 Troops Massed on Israel Border
    From Beforeitsnews:

Israeli General Israel Ziv (res.) reported in Jerusalem that Iranian general officers have taken command of the Syrian front within six miles of the north-east border of Israel, along with 10,000 “volunteers” from Iran, Iraq and Afganistan.

From the Israel newspaper Yedioth Achronoth, as translated by the Washington Free Beacon:

“Iran is taking over the reins in Syria,” said Ziv … “In fact, no military decision [in Syria] is made without [the Iranianian Revolutionary Guard].” He described (Syrian President) Assad as “a puppet looking out at his lost land.

    • Utopia: the Collapse says:

Yes, the whole point of Iran and the Hezbollah rallying to Assad’s aid in Syria means they don’t want the region to swing towards pro-Zionism. All of Israel’s enemies have become the enemies of the U.S. What this means is after Syria is subdued, the wrath will turn towards Palestine.

      • Dennis E. says:

Consider this Alvin. We have posted regarding The Burden of Damascus in that this city, the oldest city in the world, never destroyed. We, have speculated that it would be Israel who would carry out this act. Within one hour its demise, reduce to rubble.

I would like to introduce a new player:
Iran — who I believe possess a nuclear device, but lack the proper delivery vehicle.
They could destroy Damascus, blame it on Israel and we would see the results.
The reason I include Iran is that The Religious leader has said how many people(their people included) they lose: Doesn’t matter as long as Islam reigns supreme throughout the world.
It is possible they could see Assad as a stumbling block.
        Just a thought.

      • Utopia: the Collapse says:

That’s an interesting point for sure, Dennis.

An Open Letter To Vladimir Putin, President of Russia:

I am but a tradesman, a craftsman, at best, but I work now in a service capacity that is of no relevance; I am not a leader of any political sort, and I appeal to you, sir, not as the leader of a mighty nation, but as a man of faith, and I ask you, “What king, going to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and take counsel whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? And if he is unable, he sends an embassy and asks terms of peace.”

While it seems that the highest positions of government in the United States are filled by fools who would be kings, the obvious truth is that none are worthy, for they have failed to take counsel and to ask themselves this simple question. Were they to do so, they would recognise that the only recourse is to send an embassy and ask terms of peace. Instead, in their arrogance and folly, they conspire and manipulate in a passive-aggressive manner (rather than be honest and “pro-active” to initiate a first-strike themselves) in order to incite war by forcing a reaction from, as you know, Russia, or China, or Syria, or Yemen, or Ukraine, or anyone else whom might give cause for them to make war. Given the current state of our down-sized military, already divided into multiple theaters, further aggression, on any front, is reckless and dangerous. To me, the posturing by “my” government reeks of desperation. For what reason, this desperation? Because the elected officials in the US have robbed the electorate through excessive taxation, through the passage of unconstitutional laws that whittle away our freedoms with every stroke of their pens, through the misrepresentations and manipulations of the legislative process by which they sell a positive social program (the Affordable Care Act, for example) but deliver one that is altogether negative (the Affordable Care Act, for example). At every turn, they lie. Even worse, officials pretend that the United States is a Capitalist nation, but when, as a consequence of their own foolish decisions, the big banks face bankruptcy, the politicians use public funds to “bail-out” these private corporations; that is, they “socialise” the debts while the profits which they generate (if, indeed, there are any) remain “privatised”, are paid to the executives, board members and investors and to the politicians, by way of campaign donations. Thus, the citizenry is burdened by a tremendous (and expanding) public debt, while the criminally negligent, mis-managers, and fools who hold office are enriched. The citizenry receives nothing. (In fact, the subsequent law which rendered “bail-outs” illegal made “bail-ins” legal; that is, the banks may now take our money directly, without the “middleman” of government dictate.) The system has become corrupted, indeed, is corrupt, and the current state of political desperation is due to the fact that they can hide the truth no longer. The citizens of the United States realise that we have been “sold-out”, betrayed to financial ruin by thieves and liars, and these same thieves and liars now seek to hide their crimes, the looming economic disaster which they have caused, by creating yet another war.

Much like Eve, in the garden, who had no knowledge of good and evil and was, therefore, unable to recognise a lie when she heard one, the majority of the populace of the United States are pure at heart. They are not crooks and criminals but are honest, hard-working, and proud of their careers and families. To their detriment, however, most have been educated by a system that espouses dogma rather than truth. They are not taught HOW to think but WHAT to think; because propaganda and historical revision abound in textbooks and classrooms (and thanks, in part, to the complicit media), many well-meaning citizens in the United States have no idea that what they “know” is, in reality, fiction. The institutional failure is so pervasive that few recognise that it is failed. Or, perhaps, this is the intended consequence of our system; perhaps the intent is to train, not thinkers and innovators, but laborers, laborers to fill the factories that have been moved overseas. Regardless, students learn not to question but to obey, to obey these same thieves and liars who betray them at every opportunity.

In short, sir, they have enslaved us. Much like Eve, whose innocence caused her (and mankind with her) to be enslaved by sin, the citizens of the United States are bound to be tax slaves, as are our children and our children’s children, due to the policies enacted by men and women who, when they volunteered to run for office, promised to oppose the reckless spending, to reform rampant corruption, to change the system for the better. At every turn, they have failed. Now, these failures presume to hide themselves behind the smoke and fog of war.

So I ask you as a man of faith: what recourse have we in this present situation, wherein we find ourselves confronted (even surrounded) by wicked men, by liars and thieves, by deceivers and the deceived? I do not presume to advise you, sir; for you are my elder in the faith as well as the elected leader of a mighty nation, and, as you have said, you owe the citizens of Russia the protection with which they entrusted you. You do as you must, and I pray you do so with prayer and supplication before Almighty God, to Whom we all will answer. I do, however, ask of you but to consider the reality that many of the citizens of the United States are not as ill-informed, not as ignorant, not as compliant as our “leaders” would like; we question what they would prefer that we accept, and we doubt what they uphold to be “true”; we have entrusted them with our protection (the primary mandate for the federal government according to our constitution), and we recognise that they have betrayed us. Indeed, in its present condition, under the control of the banks and corporations, the government of the United States no longer represents its people at all, nor humanity at large, as its policies threaten the welfare of the entire world. The current presidential race is proof that we, as a nation, seek actual reform of our government and actual change for the better, because, please understand, we seek peaceful recourse through the processes of election. If we are denied this recourse, however, whether by political manipulation or worse, we, the citizens of this once great country, will handle the reformation through other means. We have not, regardless of the machinations of our officials, relinquished our God-given right of self-preservation (per the book of Esther); if ever we do, the tyranny that threatens to consume us will do so, and the United States will be no more. Should this ever happen, perhaps the same is true of the world as we know it. Let us hope and pray, instead, that we find the truth and the peace which we seek, for the reign of lies must end, and, by the Grace of God, it will.

Grace and peace to you, sir, in the name of Jesus Christ.
