Ukraine civil war threat rising: country in danger of splitting in two: 38 dead, 2 helicopters shot down

May 2014 UKRAINE The Ukrainian army began a special operation Friday morning against pro-autonomy activists in the eastern Ukrainian city of Slavyansk. Two Ukrainian military helicopters were shot down and the town surrounded by government forces. In the city of Odessa, clashes later broke out between pro-Kiev and anti-Kiev activists, with the town’s Trade Unions House being set on fire. At least 38 people are dead as a result of the blaze.
